Unmanned Aerial Systems Centre of Excellence is pleased to announce that their member Hovercam-Media (St-Félicien-Normandin) have closed a new deal giving them exclusive distribution rights in Canada of the Lynx M developed by American Swift Radioplanes (Prescott, Arizona, USA).

Several fixed-wing (airplane) UAV trials were carried out by Hovercam-Media. Mr. Guy Savard, the President, and Mr. Patrice Savard, the Vice-President, have capitalized on the Lynx M, a system which has received time and again the Certificate of Authorization (COA) by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United-States, the equivalent of a Special Flight Operating Certificate (SFOC) in Canada, which authorizes UAV flights.

It is more than a simple agreement which arises today; it is a collaboration which will allow Hovercam-Media to offer its customers a high-end commercial UAV. Swift Radioplanes, a young company, has reached an unparalleled level of technological excellence building on a research and development program that exceeds industry standards on all levels using materials and innovative technologies for the conception of their devices.

Mr. Patrice Savard, the Vice-President points out: “Swift Radioplanes motto is: we sell what we use, which represents exactly the spirit that has been guiding Hovercam-Media since its creation in 2013. The Lynx M will now be the fixed wing UAV reference for customers and partners within the northern territory.” Now that this new system has been added to our line, this will enable the UAV integration department to recommend a system tailored to the customer’s requirements. The Hovercam-Media team offers its customers comprehensive training on the use of various sensors used for the collection of information with all of its systems (photogrammetric and infrared rays, etc.)

The Lynx M has a three hour flight capacity; Mr. Guy Savard has personally attended a flight lasting over two hours and fifty minutes during his stay in Prescott. « The endurance of the aircraft represents a major asset in the selection of our new partner » adds Mr. Savard.

Mr. Pascal Pilote, President of Unmanned Systems Centre of Excellence, is delighted with this news « We are surpassing our goals to develop international commercial ties; this new partnership will bring many advantages for the UAS CE and Hovercam-Media, notably in terms of exposure abroad.
