BETA Technologies is seeking versatile and capable Software Interns to join our team with a focus on supporting the Research and Development (R&D) needs of various teams including Flight Test, Flight Controls, Instrumentation, Propulsion, Battery, Flight Simulator, Embedded Software, and Data Management.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated programming experience, enjoys working on diverse projects, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Interns must be self-directed and engaged in supporting the needs of cross-disciplinary teams.
Summer Internships are primarily offered May-August. If your availability is outside of this timeframe, please communicate specifics in your cover letter.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:Support the software needs of various teams including Flight Test, Flight Controls, Instrumentation, Propulsion, Battery, Flight Simulator, Embedded Software, Data Management, and Data Science.Design, write, test, and deploy production-ready code.Build -> Measure -> Learn. Think like an entrepreneur.
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking (your Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities):Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited University.Competency with Python, C, C++, JavaScript, and/or Matlab and Simulink.Familiarity with Git: GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, and/or equivalent.Strong project management and organizational skills.Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.Experience with Google G-Suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts, Hangouts; Slack.
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you (preferred qualifications):Familiarity working with and configuring Linux systems including shell scripting.Experience with network programming and message-passing protocols such as MQTT.Experience configuring, running code, and interfacing with peripherals on lightweight computers such as Raspberry Pis and/or embedded systems.Experience working with Git version control and CI/CD systems.Exposure to one or more of the following: motor control, temperature sensors, analog-to-digital converters, SPI bus.Knowledge of LabView.
