Fully autonomous aerial intelligence technologies are now deployed with European Public Safety teams.

Today, Fotokite announced the release of its fully autonomous aerial intelligence product line, the Fotokite Sigma, alongside its distribution partners in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. Intellitronika, Desautel Group, Emergency One, Excelerate, Primetech, Growag and Brandschutztechnik Schlichtiger, has already begun supplying European Firefighters and Public Safety teams with the Fotokite Sigma for gathering fully automatic situational awareness at emergency response sites throughout Europe.

European Public Safety teams are starting to receive fully autonomous aerial intelligence technologies for use at their emergency response sites. The Fotokite Sigma, an actively tethered UAS equipped with thermal and low-light imaging capabilities, launches at the push of a button and never requires any piloting whatsoever while providing incident commanders with elevated situational awareness throughout their responses. With this brand new product category, Public Safety teams now have access to aerial intelligence on a regular basis, from any vehicle, without the need for dedicated drone pilots on-site.

Fotokite Sigma systems save team resources by launching, flying, and landing with the single push of a button. Able to achieve true autonomous flight with or without GPS and a long endurance flight time, Fotokites enables teams to focus on their missions by providing live thermal and low-light imaging from a bird’s-eye-view throughout their missions.

Reliability, durability, and safety are key aspects of every Fotokite system. Fotokites have a weatherproof IP55 rating and are regularly used by first responders in harsh weather conditions such as wind, snow or rain. The reinforced, load-rated, ultra-thin tether that connects the kite to the ground station acts as an interference-free data connection, safety backup, and power source to fly the system for over 24 hours on the go.

About Fotokite: Fotokite designs and builds fully autonomous, persistent, and reliable aerial intelligence systems that provide invaluable overview information to firefighters and first responders to help manage complex, safety-critical situations.
