The new campus for firms and professionals “ROMA DRONE”

From big multirotors with HD camera to micro drones able to survey also towns, from radio-controlled mini-airships to solar energy drones. And many other systems for different applications, from tv service to aero photogrammetry, from agriculture to journalism and security. 

Many innovations will be presented to “Roma Drone Campus 2017”, the new event for companies and professionals interested in use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that will take place on February 21st and 22nd at the Department of Engineering of Università Roma Tre (Via Volterra, 62). “Our aim is to offer a big occasion for training and adjournment for UAV  professional utilization or experts already engaged in this sector”, Luciano Castro, Roma Drone chairman, explains. “This event will further supply to companies of the Italian drones community new business and networking opportunities, also at international level”.

“Roma Drone Campus 2017” figures are clear:  a 2-day event, 80 courses and conferences for globally 100 hours, 8 classrooms with globally 800 places, 2 inflatable arena for demonstrative flights. The program foresees, for the morning of February 21st, “Roma Drone Conference 2017”, the opening session where ENAC will present its Report 2016 regarding the activities in UAV sector and it will match with the Associations of Italian specialised companies. During this conference, “Roma Drone Award 2017” will be assigned, first edition of a prize that will reward public entities, companies/start-up and experts for their important contribution to development of UAV utilization in civil and military sector in Italy. During the 2-day show, a big number of workshops and courses will take place, among which the presentation by ENAC and ENAV of the new portal “D-Flight” for the drones owners in Italy, some workshops about the last drone models and specific training courses for surveyors, architects, land surveyors, journalists and for other professional categories.

The program foresees also some special events. First of all, on Tuesday 21st a briefing for foreign diplomats regarding drones market and technology in Italy, to promote contacts with Italian companies of this sector. On Wednesday 22nd, the ”FPV Drone Racing Convention” is foreseen: a round table with the participation of Aero Club D’Italia about the new sport with racing mini drones. “Roma Drone Campus 2017”, organized by Ifimedia and Mediarkè, has received numerous sponsorships: the Ministry of Defence, Economic Development and Environment, ENAC, ANSV, CNR, ENEA, CIRA, ENAV, Aero Club d’Italia and the UAV Associations UASIT, ASSORPAS, FIAPR, AIDRONI, EDPA. Scientific partners are the Department of Engineering of Università Roma Tre and the Link Campus University.
