Northwest UAV (NWUAV), the largest manufacturer of UAV propulsion systems, announced today that it has formed a distributorship agreement with NASAM, a Greenwich Aerogroup Company. The agreement includes the distribution of NWUAV’s NW-44 UAV propulsion system, components, and services to the Japanese market. Under this agreement NASAM will be the primary provider of products, services, and support in Japan, and will strengthen NWUAV’s position as a global company.

The NW-44 multi-fuel UAV propulsion system is a commercial off-the shelf (COTS), turn-key, modular propulsion system specifically designed for small unmanned aircraft (drones). This engine has undergone intensive flight testing, and has been tested to standards equal to the FAA’s stringent FAR 33 endurance test, proving its durability and reliability. The NW-44 is the first commercially available and EAR 99 export approved propulsion system in the US market. This COTS engine sets the highest standards in the UAV industry for quality, flexibility, power to weight, and efficiency, saving aircraft manufacturers millions of dollars and years of development.

NWUAV’s other product offerings include: Custom propeller systems, custom engine test cells and equipment, a maintenance and repair operations, as well as engineering and engine testing services. NASAM, which was founded in 1980, is an international distributor of high-reliability electronic components for satellites and spacecraft, defense-related systems, aircraft parts and life support equipment.

The South San Francisco-based company also has a branch office in Tokyo, Japan called NASAM Japan K.K. For more information, visit www.nasam.com.
