Orkid Launches U.S. Expansion with NDAA-Compliant Tactical VTOL DroneFeaturing SATCOM Command & Control

Orkid, an aerospace technology company specializing in tactical uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), today announced its entry into the U.S. market with a new line of SATCOM-enabled, fixed-wing VTOL platforms designed for defense, inspection, and long-range operations in communications-limited environments.

Purpose-built for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) missions, Orkid’s latest systems combine vertical takeoff and landing capability with global connectivity and mission versatility. Each platform is fully NDAA-compliant and engineered to meet the stringent operational requirements of U.S. federal agencies, utilities, and tactical users.

“This isn’t just a drone — it’s a field-proven aerial platform engineered for real-world operations where others fail,” said Andrés Escobar, Strategic Business Advisor at Orkid. “With a SATCOM-enabled architecture and NDAA-compliant supply chain, we’re delivering secure, long-range capabilities for mission-critical environments — from national security to remote infrastructure.”

U.S. Market Launch

Orkid is actively establishing a U.S.-based distribution and assembly footprint to support growing domestic demand. The company is currently seeking:

  • Certified dealers and integrators
  • Defense, utility, and public safety partners
  • Payload and mission system collaborators

Orkid will showcase its flagship tactical VTOL drone at the Commercial UAV Expo, taking place September 2–4, 2025, in Las Vegas, at Booth #301. Attendees will meet the executive and engineering team and experience firsthand the aircraft’s mission-ready capabilities.
