Blue UAS Certification for Trace UAV – Meeting the Challenge of Unleashing American Drone Dominance
We are proud to announce that the Trace UAV, Vantage Robotics’ ultra-portable nano drone, has officially been granted Blue UAS Cleared List status through the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). This designation reflects the Trace’s compliance with the U.S. Department of Defense’s strictest requirements for cybersecurity, supply chain integrity, and operational reliability.
We actually got news of this on the same day that the Pentagon announced their intent to arm its troops with thousands of drones, per the recent “Unleashing American Drone Dominance” executive order. As Trace was created with the US Army to create a squad level ISR asset, we’re excited to see the stars align for Vantage Robotics to make a major impact towards this massive national security initiative.
In an age where trusted origin, cybersecurity, and interoperability are crucial, Trace’s Blue UAS certification opens the door for deployment across all branches of the U.S. military, federal agencies, and allied governments looking for field-proven tactical ISR solutions.
What Blue UAS Certification Means:
Fully NDAA-compliant, meeting rigorous security and hardware sourcing standards
Evaluated and approved for field deployment in sensitive and contested environments
Recognized as part of a select portfolio of UAS solutions trusted by U.S. and allied forces
About the Trace UAV:
200 g NDAA compliant ISR UAV with the performance of systems 10x its size
Highly capable with 40 min endurance, 6 km range, and gimbal stabilized EO/IR
Low-noise design for covert operations
Real-time video intelligence via Vision2 GCS, Vantage’s secure, ATAK-integrated ground control platform
AES-256 encrypted link and components from approved countries — trusted for national and international defense networks
We extend our thanks to the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the broader defense community for their continued trust and partnership in strengthening U.S. and allied capabilities through secure, next-gen robotics.
