The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril works across the entire spectrum of products and business lines, as well as all flight operations and test range management. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new production acceptance testing, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. As a Senior Flight Test Operator you will have a strong passion for operating, troubleshooting and maintaining uncrewed fixed-wing and multi-rotor aircraft, in support of flight test operations. You will work alongside a team of engineers and test specialists across the UK and will be responsible for managing our fleet of surrogate Group 1 and 2 UAS, in addition to assisting planning, coordination and execution of flight test operations.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and fly a variety of Group 1 and 2 remotely piloted aircraft in support of flight test activities
- Build, program and maintain autonomous aircraft for flight
- Manage a fleet of surrogate air systems in support of test operations
- Work with engineers on a variety of operational tasks that enable test, such as flight execution, material prep, and participating in flight demonstrations
- Assist with product installations at our test sites as needed
- Travel between test sites depending on testing requirements and team needs
Required Qualifications
- Remote pilot experience on both multi-rotor and fixed-wing platforms
- Ability to get and maintain a GVC (multi-rotor and fixed-wing)
- High levels of familiarity with Cube, Pixhawk, Ardupilot and other flight controllers
- Ability to build and program a variety of RC aircraft
- Significant knowledge and understanding of UK airspace and UAS regulation
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for building internal and external relationships, and utilizing these connections in the pursuit of product excellence and mission success
- Ability to own a variety of tasks in an autonomous environment
- Able to work extended hours as required
- Ability to travel 25-50+% of the time
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a UK Security Check (SC) clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of developmental test experience
- RC pilot experience on both multi-rotor and fixed-wing in the Open and Specific Categories
- Experience testing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and avionic systems
- Knowledge of digital bus protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, CAN and Ethernet
- Familiarity with RC control systems (e.g. Futaba, Spektrum, JR, Radiomaster)
- Familiarity with Linux (Bash) shell commands
- Experience performing data-driven root cause analysis on complex systems
- Experience developing code in higher level languages (e.g. Python) for analytical modeling and data reduction
UK Salary Range
£57,000—£77,000 GBP
