Unmanned Aviation 2022 Symposia and Webinars
Welcome to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Unmanned Aviation Symposia 2022!
Unmanned Aviation Symposia 2022 consists of three (3) activities including the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Symposium (RPAS 2022), the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Industry (DRONE ENABLE 2022) Symposium and the DRONE ENABLE 2022 Webinar Series. Both RPAS 2022 and DRONE ENABLE 2022 will take place in Montréal, Canada from 7 to 9 November and 14 to 16 November 2022, respectively.
RPAS 2022 will provide an understanding of ICAO’s work regarding the development and certification of RPAS, operators and operations and remote pilot licensing. This is a unique opportunity to learn about pertinent ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), as well as implementation of the certification processes for RPAS and RPAS operators, and licensing processes for remote pilots.
DRONE ENABLE 2022 will focus on ICAO’s work relating to the operation of non-certificated unmanned aircraft systems and the systems that support such operations, such as UAS traffic management. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about advances being made in support of UAS and UTM development activities and operations.
The DRONE ENABLE 2022 Webinar Series will address various topics related to UAS and UTM such as: separation provision, advanced air mobility management, automation certification, aerodrome activities and environmental/sustainability issues. Everyone from industry professionals, to experienced regulators, to novel enthusiasts may benefit from the experience of international experts, and take away a global perspective on these key issues. The Unmanned Aviation Symposia 2022 activities will bring together key stakeholders from industry, academia, government and international organizations in the aviation sector to exchange research, best practices, lessons learned and respective challenges.

** CANADIAN VISA AND ENTRY INFORMATION **
Attendees who require a visa or electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada, kindly take note of the following information:
By means of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations made under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and in accordance with paragraph 3.19 of Annex 9 — Facilitation of the Chicago Convention, Canada has already dispensed with the requirement of entrance visas for temporary visitors of a considerable number of States. It should however be noted that many visa-exempt visitors travelling to Canada by air will require an eTA. Those delegates for whom visas continue to be required for entry into Canada are invited to take steps to obtain these visas in good time (8 weeks prior to departure) from the nearest Canadian authorities.
Please note that it is not possible to obtain entry visas upon arrival in Canada.
In order to facilitate entry formalities upon arrival into Canada, it is suggested that participants carry with them a copy of the document notifying that they are participants at the ICAO Unmanned Aviation Symposia 2022, and that they identify themselves as such to the Canadian authorities. This document should indicate in which capacity the participant is attending RPAS 2022 and/or DRONE ENABLE 2022 (e.g. speaker, attendee, Member State/Government representative, International Organization representative or Academia).
