Swoop Aero wins A/AA 22 Excellence in Innovation Award
Swoop Aero has won the 2022 A/AA Excellence in Innovation Award.
The Award has been presented to Swoop Aero for the launch of the company’s latest and most advanced aircraft, the KiteTM.
Kite TM brings together the best learnings of unparalleled operational experience and real-world learning, it is Swoop Aero’s next-generation urban aircraft, built for the skies above cities and regions alike and strengthens the global health supply chain by improving access to essential supplies for last-mile communities worldwide while the A/AA 22 Excellence in Innovation Award highlights the unique factors that have made the Australian industry a leader in world aviation and aerospace innovation. The award recognises the innovation,
technological ingenuity and pioneering nature of Swoop Aero’s technology-enabled service.
That recognition will help enhance Australia’s international reputation for progressive, applied thinking in the STEM and global health sectors.

Swoop Aero’s new aircraft is a powerhouse that brings together lessons learned by the company over four years of operations across seven countries. The Kite is designed precisely to suit the needs of communities in a range of markets, unlocking the skies above our cities.
The aircraft travels up to 200km per hour and operates across geographical ranges of more than 180 kilometres on a single battery charge. It also has an increased payload capacity of up to 5 kgs, allowing it to support a range of industries including medical logistics, search and rescue operations, natural and emergency preparedness activities and non-medical logistics.
