Alert for restricted airspace (Temporary) Aintree Racecourse. Merseyside. Drone only

This is a shocker from the UK CAA, there needs to be a proper investigation into who has their hand up the regulator’s back. Smacks of corruption at the highest level. It’s not the helicopters they are worried about it’s the betting syndicates gaining a microsecond advantage from drone live feeds.

They plainly don’t realise the efficacy of some zoom systems these days.

The 2022 Grand National will be held at Aintree Racecourse from 7 to the 9 April

There will be a large number of helicopters operating from the temporary heliport at the racecourse; therefore, the Secretary of State for Transport has decided that it is necessary to introduce Restriction of Flying Regulations under Article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016.

THESE RESTRICTIONS OF FLYING DO NOT APPLY TO MANNED AIRCRAFT

Subject to paragraph 3, between 0730 hours and 1830 hours on each day
beginning with 7 April 2022 and ending on 9 April 2022, no unmanned aircraft is
to fly below 2000 FT AMSL within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 1
NM whose centre is at 532827N 0025622W.

Paragraph 2 does not apply to any unmanned aircraft flying with a permission from
Aintree Temporary Heliport who may be contacted on 07968-758915 or at
ops@rotarywing.co.uk.

The times mentioned in paragraph 2 are Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC), which
is one hour behind British Summer Time (BST).
