DJI – North America Communications Manager

DJI is seeking a North America Communications Manager to tell the story of DJI’s consumer products with media outlets across North America. This position requires a broad range of skills to represent DJI’s interests – immersing yourself in innovative technology, explaining it easily to media, rolling out new products from pre-launch strategy to post-launch review management, and responding to unplanned situations in ways that will enhance the reputation of our brand.

DJI is the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer drones, and our product line has expanded to include handheld gimbals for consumer and professional imaging as well as other industry-leading products. This position will take the lead in representing DJI’s products among media for professional imaging and film/video production, and will play a strong role in our larger consumer product strategy for North America.

To succeed in this position, you will be expected to develop and execute creative ideas to advance DJI’s product and corporate agendas. You need to be exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, from learning the specifics of our products, to tracking news coverage and equipment loans, to producing flawless written products. You must also be resourceful and flexible to accommodate the operations of a global company in which your closest collaborator on a project may be on the other side of the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing public relations strategies for DJI products as well as for our larger corporate image and initiatives

• Developing relationships with media to encourage the best possible coverage of DJI and our products

• Researching, writing and editing critical written documents, including news releases, sponsored content, articles, internal reports

• Collecting, tracking and analyzing media coverage

• Organizing events including media interviews, press visits, small media demonstrations and large launch events

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

• At least 5-7 years of public relations experience, preferably in a relevant field

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant major

• Experience as a spokesperson for on-camera broadcast interviews and on-the-record non-broadcast media engagements

• Ability to operate independently in a sometimes ambiguous work environment

• Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, and achieve success with minimal oversight

• Genuine interest in technology, cameras, imaging and drones

• Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, while staying focused on larger goals

• Some domestic and international travel required as pandemic restrictions are lifted
