Hydrogen Helicopter – Thunder Tiger HCX2 Jupiter

Hydrogen Helicopter – Thunder Tiger HCX2 Jupiter

A fuel-cell-powered Helicopter HXC-2 Jupiter from Thunder Tiger made its first flight this week.

It uses a 6000W fuel cell module and carbon fibre fuel tanks to store its hydrogen.

Thunder Tiger expect it to have an endurance three times greater than traditional electric helicopters and of course with a higher payload capacity than multirotors of the same footprint.

Thunder Tiger claim that is the world’s only fuel cell coaxial helicopter.

For lifting LiDAR units over linear inspection tasks it’s just the ticket. Can you get and store the hydrogen easily though?
