Altavian accepting applications for part-time data analyst


Altavian is looking for a passionate data analyst to assist in photogrammetric data processing and organization on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will turn raw drone data into processed information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions for data customers and internal process development.

Data processing analysts are responsible for routine photogrammetric data processing including ortho rectification, 2D/3D feature extraction, 3D data modeling and multispectral data analysis. Analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities as well as efficient data organization and archive processes. They will also monitor performance and quality control of drone data to identify potential improvements.

Ideally, candidates would be available to start immediately.


Balance a regular queue of drone data processing in a timely fashion
Research and test available processing software features and performance
Develop and maintain processing reporting capabilities for trend analysis
Implement data organization systems and strategies that optimize efficiency
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Conduct experimental processes and reviews of competitive software packages


Proven work experience with photogrammetric data processing or spatial data analysis
Strong knowledge of spatial reference systems with the ability to convert spatial data between multiple coordinate systems and vertical datums
Technical understanding of common spatial filetypes
Ability to self-learn new software using public documentation and user manuals
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

Preferred Relevant Experience

AgiSoft PhotoScan
Proficient with Windows networking, remote control and computer administration software
