UAS Operator / Trainer BirdsEyeView Aerobotics – Gainesville, FL
BirdsEyeView Aerobotics is a startup company that designs and manufactures small unmanned aircraft systems (www.birdseyeview.aero). Our goal is to make flying robots accessible to everyday people in everyday environments. We are looking for a full-time associate with a strong work ethic and a passion for developing cutting edge technology to join our team in the Gainesville, FL area.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Training customers to operate the FireFLY6 small unmanned aircraft system (UAS)
- Continually striving to improve the training program based on customer experiences
- Communicating with both novice and advanced users at the appropriate level
- Working with Engineering to test and evaluate system updates or improvements
- Conducting bench, ground, and flight testing of the FireFLY6 UAS
- Documenting and reporting operations, test configurations, and test results
- Troubleshooting system malfunctions
- Providing technical support to customers
Required skills include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Remote Pilot certificate, or eligibility to obtain one
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly and repair, including soldering and electronics installation
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working remotely with little direct supervision
- Personality that professionally and intelligently represents the Company
- Ability to travel both within the US and abroad for customer training and demonstrations
Preferred skills include:
- 2-year technical degree or relevant experience with small UAS and operational scenarios
- Advanced UAS operation, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development, and/or UAS training experience
- Experience with multirotor and/or remote-controlled aircraft
- Experience with network and radio communication
- Experience with Mission Planner or other UAS mission planning software
