First flight for manned wingboard

Wyp Aviation announced today that it successfully conducted its first full-scale, manned flight testing the week of June 27th, 2016, at the ACE Wind Tunnel facility in Toronto, ON, Canada, as part of their human flight week. A culmination of three years of development, the full-scale prototype was pilot by notable wingsuit flyer Brandon Mikesell. Testing results far exceed expectations and validated critical performance in preparation for airborne flight testing. Over 4 hours of flight test time were accumulated on the board by two riders over the two days of testing at speeds ranging from 50 to 75mph.

Wyp Aviation is also pleased to announce that the full scale WingBoard prototype will make its first public debut next week at EAA’s Airventure in Oshkosh, WI. The WingBoard will be located in Wyp Aviation booth in the Innovations Pavilion. Wyp Aviation representatives will be on hand to discuss the recent wind tunnel test results as well as details about the future of the WingBoard. Daily drawings will be held to win limited edition desktop models of the WingBoard. For more information on the WingBoard, visithttp://www.wypaviation.com/wingboard.html
