ARA Robotique is proud to announce its membership to the Unmanned Aerial System Centre of Excellence (UAS CE), a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop an international centre of expertise focused on the development, applications and operations of UAS. The UAS CE brings together 20 companies and organizations dedicated to the advancement of the industry.

ARA Robotique, based in Montreal, Quebec, designs professional avionics-quality autopilots for multirotor Unmanned Aerial Systems (a.k.a. drones).

ARA Robotique`s advanced UAS autopilot increases stability, adaptive response, mission traceability (via its “black box” technology), and improves remote control – all essential capabilities for mission critical UAS operations. Reliable flight operations means operators can focus on their primary mission of data collection and increase client confidence in mission dependability.

An installation kit, advanced diagnostics, and a customer service center for client-specific sensor integration requirements, enables ARA Robotique to integrate their autopilot into any multirotor UAS on the market. ARA Robotique was launched in September of 2014 and has established key alliances with Canadian companies committed to integrate and monetize aerial robotic solutions in their professional activities. ARA Robotique is currently under contract to integrate the autopilot in a multirotor designed for infrastructure maintenance and inspection.

‘Over the last few years, companies are starting to understand the benefits of UAS to enhance current data-collection operations and provide new capabilities in many business sectors including mining, agricultural and film-making’’ says Pascal Chiva- Bernard, CEO and co-founder of the company.

‘Operations reliability and ease-of-use are critical to market acceptance and that is why we at ARA Robotique are committed to designing reliable and safe autopilots adapted to our customers’ needs, while respecting the airworthiness standards set by Transport Canada.

Membership in UAS Centre of Excellence provides ARA Robotique with increased test flight capabilities and expanded business opportunities”.

Pascal Chiva-Bernard and Charles Brunelle discovered a passion for UAS early in their engineering studies at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Quebec’s largest engineering University. As they assessed the performances of multirotors available on the market, they saw a need to develop new technologies with the objective of improving devices’ reliability and efficiency.

Upon graduating from ÉTS, the two engineers started ARA Robotique and joined Centech, the ÉTS business start-up incubator, where they are currently transforming ARA Robotique into a key UAS player in domestic and national markets.

M. Pascal Pilote, chairman of the UAS Centre of Excellence, adds that “each new member brings diversified expertise related to the Centre, which is the essence of our mission. ARA Robotique has demonstrated their professionalism and it is with pleasure and enthusiasm that the UAS CE’s Board of Directors agreed to accept this young promising company in our ranks. “
