DroneDeploy unveil flight logs solution

Now this I like, I use DroneDeploy for my flight planning I personally find the flight planning app the best of the bunch. I’m more than happy that I will be able to automatically import my flights into Skyward.

My friend Stuart in the UK reckons he has more than 350 hours flown with his Phantom 3 Professional, I will have to see if I can catch up.

Keeping a track on airframe use and expenses really allows Part 107 and in fact, commercial operators anywhere to cost their jobs efficiently.

DroneDeploy, the leading cloud-based drone software platform, today unveiled its new flight logs solution, available now with leading partners: Airnest, Drone Complier, DroneLogbook, Healthy Drones, Kitty Hawk, NVDrones and Skyward. Direct access to actual flight logs eliminates the tedious, manual data entry process for capturing flight data, and enables drone operators to easily track and monitor their drone flights for regulatory compliance, insurance and fleet maintenance.

For the first time, DroneDeploy’s more than 10,000 users in over 130 countries, can access logs of their DroneDeploy mapping flights. These logs contain highly detailed drone battery life, GPS positioning, camera activity, and more, providing a vital record of flight activities often required for regulatory compliance and insurance. Leveraging their actual flight log data with DroneDeploy’s partners enables businesses to:

  • Automated logging and recording of all drone flights for compliance and insurance purposes
  • Monitor equipment performance to recommend preventative maintenance
  • Explore trends in flight characteristics to define best practices

“Many large companies and enterprises are looking to scale their drone program and do it efficiently,” said Jonathan Evans, CEO of Skyward. “Now, with access to DroneDeploy flight logs, Skyward customers can manage flight information across their entire fleet.”

Other solutions on the market today typically require a high-cost investment and lock businesses into working with a single drone software vendor. DroneDeploy’s offering enables businesses to select what works best for them from a selection of industry leading drone compliance, insurance and fleet management partners. This highlights DroneDeploy’s approach to addressing the needs of the commercial drone market by developing a best-of-breed offering with ecosystem partners.

The new integrations come on the heels of the recent launch of DroneDeploy’s free Drone Mapping Directory, a network of more than 500 pilots designed for businesses looking for commercial drone mapping professionals.

“The long-term success of the commercial drone industry requires greater cooperation, including software standards that are scalable for the enterprise,” said Mike Winn, CEO and co-founder of DroneDeploy. “We are building capabilities today to empower the full-scale drone operations of tomorrow. Our partners share our vision of creating more holistic, efficient and scalable drone solutions for business applications.”
