Freefly RID application

Freefly RID application

I am a little bit bemused at this missive from Freefly, you would think all the T’s would have been dotted and the I’s crossed the day before RID became mandatory for Part 107 airframes in the USA.

At $175 it is not the cheapest module out there, TAOGLAS are good antennas though.

We plan to submit our Remote ID Declaration of Compliance documentation to the FAA for their review 15 March 2024.

For existing Alta X operators, you can gain Broadcast RID compliance with our field upgradable module here. We plan to start shipping these 15 March 2024.

Existing Astro operators will receive an alert on the hand controller, if connected to the internet, allowing them to update their firmware to Standard RID. No additional hardware required for Astro.
