Animal Dynamics shutters

News has reached sUAS News towers that Oxford-based Animal Dynamics has run out of runway and closed. This happened on Monday 17th July 2023 and led to more than 90 job losses.

I saw one of their platforms a year ago in Reading at the Altitude Angels Automated Skies event

Crunchbase shows 26 million pounds of investment.

Good luck to all the former employees seeking new opportunities in the drone space.

This is what they used to say about themselves.

At Animal Dynamics they know that nature’s evolved designs are more efficient, elegant and powerful than anything yet built by man. However, the last decade has seen revolutions in analytical technology that allow us to evaluate high-performance animals to a previously unachievable degree, and use cutting-edge science to understand the fundamental mechanisms underlying this performance.

AD does not simply attempt to replicate the high-performance natural designs but marries fine-engineering skills with a deep understanding of the fundamental mechanisms, to produce revolutionary machines that will change the shape of the future, taking inspiration from their environment in order to protect it, and capable of performance beyond anything currently found in nature or engineering.
