Telefónica and Alpha Unmanned Systems signcollaboration agreement on 5G and drone services

Telefónica and AUS become priority partners for business opportunities in 5G communications and unmanned helicopters in the defense and security arena

Alpha Unmanned Systems (AUS), the unmanned helicopter (UAV) manufacturer based in Madrid, Spain, announces a new collaboration agreement with Telefónica to support each other in joint business opportunities.

Thanks to this agreement, Telefónica becomes AUS’s priority partner when its customers need 5G communication services, while the Madrid-based company will be AUS’s partner when unmanned helicopters are required.

Both companies have highlighted the complementarity of Alpha’s vertical take-off drones with Telefónica’s 5G communication systems for various solutions in the defence and security sector, with a special focus on onboard applications.

“This is an extremely important agreement as it will allow us to expand our internationalization to more and new markets worldwide. While our helicopters already fly on three continents and are present in more than 8 countries around the world, the agreement reached with one of the world’s leading communication and telephony service companies, Telefónica, will allow Alpha to access dozens of new markets”, says Eric Freeman, CEO of AUS.

Alpha’s A800 and A900 platforms are highly evolved and professional unmanned flight systems designed for both civilian and military/security use, with a high level of aeronautical engineering and sophistication.

Founded in 2014 with Spanish capital and headquartered in Madrid, AUS has made direct international sales to both institutional organizations (governments and armed forces) and private entities, with recurring clients in Spain, Israel, USA, Greece, Indonesia, Georgia, Turkey, European Union, etc. With a highly qualified professional team, and with a clear commitment to its niche market, Alpha is in the “top three” of its sector of tactical UAV helicopter manufacturers worldwide.
