DLE forge a partnership with Chesterfield County, Va.

CHESTERFIELD/VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA- As part the “Drone Tech Gateway” program, Drone Logistics Ecosystem is setting up a partnership with Chesterfield County, Va., to stimulate innovation, standardization and cross-border commercialization of drone delivery technologies and products. Chesterfield has introduced limited use of UAS technology in the past two years. It created a workgroup consisting of 14 departments, including Police, Sheriff, Fire, Risk Management, Communications & Media, Parks & Recreation and Schools, to assess UAS policy & programs that would allow the county to use these devices safely to achieve its strategic goals. The Chesterfield UAS Workgroup provided guidance, direction, and regulation to deploy UAS for public and commercial use. DLE will assist Chesterfield with expertise and necessary technology for testing and commercial implementation to form the guidelines and direction for the drone delivery industry in Chesterfield County.

Dr. Joe Casey, Chesterfield County Administrator said, “We are committed to pursuing innovative strategies that foster quality of life for our citizens, businesses and non-profits, to include leveraging technological advances in drone deployment”. “Preparing our students and citizens with such technical knowledge and skills will give our county a competitive advantage in future employment and business opportunities. With our ideal geographic location and existing private sector distribution facilities, anything that improves the movement of commerce will only help our businesses thrive.”

Drone Logistics Ecosystem™

Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE) is a free of charge, global multidisciplinary “quadruple helix” network of Companies, Universities, Public/Government, and Investors to stimulate innovations, collaborations, and standardisations in the drone logistics industry.

The aim of the Drone Logistics Ecosystem is to bring together stakeholders in the drone logistics industry under one roof to support commercialisation and marketing of products of Drone Logistics members. Since the industry at its inception, most of the companies are early-stage start-ups with limited access to funding, manpower and expertise, making us an ideal platform for companies to lend their expertise for joint-development of products, consulting, or simply as sub-contractors, or for any other format of cross-disciplinary/border collaboration.

The benefits of the Drone Logistics Ecosystem include.

  • Inclusivity for all players in the industry with an open Drone Logistics Ecosystem.
  • Standardization globally to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods from the factory to the end customer globally.
  • A win-win for all participants in this emerging industry and the delivery and courier industry, and more importantly, the customers.
