Web Manuals doubles UAV customer base
Web Manuals, the global leader in digital documentation for aviation, has seen a doubling of its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and drone customer base since the start of 2021.
The rise is largely due to the worldwide growth of the drone industry resulting from advances in technology and increased demand for drone deliveries. Web Manuals’ new customers include electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developers, drone logistics services, and training centers, across North America and Europe.
Nick Karagiannis, sales executive and drone expert at Web Manuals says: “Many operators – especially the pioneers of advanced drone operations – are developing processes to prove safety. Although the majority of these companies already believe in digitized processes, they often don’t realize the complexity of flight manuals. As a result, we have also seen drone consultancy services join Web Manuals to prepare for the expected future demand of drone manuals and manual expertise.”
The UAV and drone operators use Web Manuals to manage the digital authoring, editing and distribution of all their regulatory and compliance documentation. In the US, drone users need Part 135 Air Carrier compliance and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) certification, as required by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. In Europe, the European Union Safety Agency (EASA) has released a regulatory framework requiring all drone operators to register within the ‘open’, ‘specific’ or ‘certified’ category by the end of 2021.
