Indian DroneTech Start-up and E-Commerce Giant partner for Drones for Medical Deliveries!

As a part of easing the constant pressures on our frontline workers, DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations is collaborating with Flipkart for executing ‘Medicine from the Sky’, an initiative by the ITE&C Department of the Govt. of Telangana, India. ‘Medicine from the Sky’ aims to develop and execute drone deliveries of medical supplies to remote areas.

Drone-based solutions are unconventional as much as they are robust. The global Drone Delivery Market was estimated at USD 528 Million in 2020 and is expected to reach USD 6.7 Billion by 2026, according to Facts and Factors. To capitalise on such potential, DroneAcharya has partnered with industry experts like Flipkart, Skye Air Mobility and Altitude Angel to make the BVLOS deliveries possible. Apart from this, DroneAcharya is dedicated to providing enterprise drone solutions across sectors like mining, oil & gas, agriculture, renewables, and much more.

As for ‘Medicine from the Sky’, the project is in association with the World Economic Forum, NITI Aayog, and HealthNet Global. It involves undertaking experimental Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights for delivery of vaccines using the identified airspace of Vikarabad, Telangana.

“The objective of ‘Medicine from the Sky’ was to generate insights that can drive future adoption strategies and policy interventions for inclusion of drones in the healthcare supply chain”, says Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of IT for the ITE&C Department.

Drone systems or UAVs can be key in driving similar solutions for modern logistical difficulties. Along with improving medical supply chains, they can help in last-mile deliveries to conquer unreachable areas. Delivery drones can even reduce congestion or traffic on roads, and minimise emissions.
