Job Description
Your mission during this flight:
You will be a member of our flight test team, planning and conducting both manned and unmanned flight test campaigns and continuing to build up the Flight Test Organization. Tests will usually be conducted locally in Munich, but may involve campaigns at remote locations from time to time. You will work closely with our engineering team to prepare test plans and results for both the A/C and simulator. Volocopter has an established Flight Test Organization as part of our EASA Part21J Design Organization Approval (DOA).
- Plan Ground and Flight Test activities for development activity
- Post flight assessments and troubleshooting including test data analyses and reports
- EASA eVTOL initial airworthiness: analysis of certification requirements and editing of compliance reports including the SORA approach
- Conducts Risk Assessment and prepare flight conditions
- Involved as a Flight Test expert in the database design for the management of flight test campaigns
- Ensure technical fitness, initiate configuration changes, coordinate maintenances, maintain technical logs and organize the detail conduct of a test flight
- Conduct briefings associated with a test flight (campaign)
- Verify success of a specific test flight according to the pass/fail criteria
- Ensure distribution of post-flight information to the entity requesting the flight test
- Support Cat. 1 Flight Test Pilot during test flight by
- Preparing and inspecting aircraft and flight test instrumentation
- Reading data from instrumentation to the Test Pilot
Qualifications

Required skills
- Engineering degree in aeronautical science or equivalent education
- At least 3 years of experience in flight test of manned or unmanned aircraft
- Formal Flight Test training at a recognized Test Pilot School (ITPS, ETPS, EPNRE, NTPS) or at a recognized tertiary institution (Cranfield)
- Alternative to formal flight test training: Technical job education (Engineering or Science degree on aeronautics)
- Documented familiarization training for the product to be tested
- Conversant with the principles and application of Crew Resource Management (CRM), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Aviation Risk Management (AVRM) and the principles and application of EASA guidance for design verification and validation
- Familiar with EASA UAS design regulation, UAS operating regulations and SORA regulation
- On-the-job training for flight test practices
Preferred skills
- Experience in generating and managing databases (Oracle MySQL, Adobe FileMaker or equivalent) and in programming (Python or equivalent)
