The age of automation is on the horizon

Once in a lifetime events are happening that will transform delivery as we know it- an earth-shattering 25 to 30 Billion USD value redistribution is up for grabs in logistics. Against this backdrop, a scrappy team of engineers at Skycart has the ability to disrupt the big guys and invent breakthroughs in autonomous delivery drone technology. We are capital efficient and need your support to help us scale.

The time to capitalize on this is now

Currently developing countries are struggling with Covid-19 vaccine distribution. We urgently need your support to serve this historic demand.

These mega-trends necessitate drone based delivery in particular

The speed of a delivery service is a major decision criteria for online customers, and hence directly affect an e-commerce business’s success in the marketplace. 20 to 25 percent of consumers choose same-day or instant delivery, while 5 percent prefer options that guarantee delivery within a specified time window of no more than two hours. While many of these services are available to urban areas, drones are the only way to offer same day/instant/time window deliveries to rural and remote areas.

Most investments in autonomous vehicles serve the ‘Golden Billion’

Skycart is uniquely served to dominate the fastest growing, largest, underserved segment

Safety, Reliability and Easy mission planning with the Skycart Cloud software

Skycart’s gritty team of engineers has unlocked groundbreaking levels of sophistication in Air Traffic Management capabilities, in order to track multiple deliveries per trip. This separates us from incumbent players who can only make one delivery at a time. Thanks to our redundant cloud architecture, Skycart drones provides an extremely high degree of reliability and safety.

In the competitive landscape our autonomous delivery drone has the best specs for instant delivery

The autonomous Skycart Nimbus drone is the result of an iterative process evolving towards product-market fit. It is a scalable, modular in design with durable components. The modular design means that broken components can easily be detached from the rest of the drone and replaced, so that the drone remains operational at all times. The drone services an immense area of 20,000 square kilometers at speeds of 100 mph.

Making the economics of drone delivery work for customers

– Skycart Unit economics vs drone competitors: Our competitors drones are empty for 1 out of 2 trips. Skycart drones are empty 1 of out 5 trips. Therefore, we have a 20% cost saving per km compared to other drone competitors.

– Skycart Unit economics vs incumbent systems: 30% cost saving per km compared to motor bike supply chain systems

– On average our competitors do not use 7 out of 10 drones during their operations. Because we are capable of multiple stops in one flight, we reduce the number of unused drones by up to 52.5%.

  • Our multi-package delivery drones drive down personnel cost’s by 52.5%. Less drones are required for operations, therefore less maintenance engineers and supervising pilots (Pilots in Command) are required.
  • We cut cost’s associated to component replacement by up to 75%. Less drones require maintenance therefore less parts need to be replaced.

Combating concerns regarding drone congestion, by necessitating less dense networks

– Using our drones to deliver four payloads in one mission, we reduce drone congestion by up to 75%.

More environmentally friendly than the competition

– We reduce the number of drones that are required to make deliveries. Because of this we reduce carbon emissions from battery manufacturing by up to 75%.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kAzZwnGJz4CETP8GByH-eWyG8VhqEkwy/preview

Takeaway- “Skycart is reshaping competition”

Skycart will enable the drone delivery industry to move from pilots to sustainable business models, for drone-enabled healthcare provision in developing countries.

Our core team has the critical skillsets to “Win” this technology race

Our Beachhead – We are using drones to connect everyone to global trade networks.

Inadequate road infrastructure leads to last mile transportation challenges that disconnects people from global trade networks. Yet, building infrastructure is complex and costly; it takes several decades to develop. This means that for health workers in remote areas of developing countries and regions with complex geography, last mile transportation challenges disrupt the provision of quality care to patients and pose constraints for early diagnosis.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, or ‘drone’-based technologies provide a potential avenue to deliver life saving resources to previously unreachable populations. Bridging disconnected communities in this way ensures that everyone, no matter where they live, has instant access to medical resources that are necessary for high quality healthcare.

A bottom-up analysis can be performed on the four criteria below, taken from an African drone delivery impact study called Dr One, to understand the need for Skycart’s services in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Total Addressable Market

At least 35 countries meet the criteria above for a total addressable market between $118M and $165M per year. This is a conservative estimate solely based on Ministry of Health reports on expenditures. The estimate does not incorporate International and Private Health Care Organizations, Third Party Logistics Service Providers, Pharmaceutical manufacturers, and specialized medicine supply organizations who also qualify as potential Skycart customers.

Pivot and learnings

Pivot

All kinds of deliveries in developed world to medical deliveries in developing world

Learnings

  • We can expedite the regulatory approval process by delivering life-saving materials
  • Customers in the developing world will pay now for drone delivery pilots that transport medical supplies

The road ahead

Our Signed agreement with A Kenyan County Government

Skycart is introducing its continuous delivery service in Kenya in 2021. A Kenyan County Government has signed an agreement to engage Skycart’s logistics services. The agreement stipulates that Skycart will transport Covid-19 vaccines and other small supplies round-the-clock, to health facilities that experience frequent shortages of medical supplies.

Skycart’s service will unlock new value for healthcare in Kenya.

Based on our analysis, we predict the following outcomes:

– 30% reduction in vaccine holding costs

  • 1,577,100 additional people reached
  • $11.3 average reduction in logistic cost per dose delivered. This corresponds to $20k USD savings per drone per year at 30% operating capacity, and more savings at higher operating capacity
  • 80% average reduction in response times across all times of day
  • 65.1% increase in the availability of vaccines at health facilities
  • 9% reduction in expiries
  • 37.1% of vaccines stored in more suitable temperature ranges
  • 50% average reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per dose delivered

Timeline for Kenya operation

The Bigger Picture- “Widespread adoption of our technology across enormous industries”

We plan to deliver instant, same-day and time-window E-commerce parcels to rural areas next. If the number of E-commerce parcels in the United States are limited to same-day and time-window services to rural areas, around 250,000 drones would be required in 2025. Roughly 13% of all E-commerce parcels will be delivered by drone in 2025, the majority of which will be same-day deliveries. Based on the estimated total market size in Germany, 13% equates to around 500 million parcels.

We have very little operating costs and strong margins which will continue to improve

Our core team has the skills to develop the product ourselves, rather than outsourcing it to someone else. This means we keep operating cost’s very low. As we scale production, our profit margins will continue to improve.

Our scrappy engineers have overcome the biggest limitations of current technologies with very little capital. It is time we raise the necessary funds to grow and scale.

Covid-19 has caused a historic demand for drone-based delivery capabilities.
Support us now so we can serve this global need immediately.
