Former Gatwick UAS Lead Ashley Harvey Joins Altitude Angel

London, UK:  Altitude Angel, the world’s leading UTM (Unified Traffic Management) technology provider, has today announced former Gatwick Airport UAS Drone Lead Ashley Harvey will take up the new position of Regulation, Airspace & Airports Specialist with immediate effect.

With nearly 25 years’ professional experience working in aviation, predominantly at the UK’s busiest single-runway operation, Gatwick Airport, Harvey held several roles including Airside Control Lead and Airfield Duty Manager before his appointment as UAS Lead in 2019.

In his role at Altitude Angel, Harvey will be supporting the international deployment of the Altitude Angel GuardianUTM Enterprise solution. In addition, he will take the lead on several key research programmes Altitude Angel is involved in, such as Future Flight Challenge, helping to shape future regulations and airspace.

“Joining us from an airport operator where he was responsible for integrating cooperative drones safely, Ashley brings with him a huge amount of experience and know-how,“ said Chris Forster, Altitude Angel, Chief Operating Officer. “His experience of managing drone operations at a major international airport, coupled with his regulatory knowledge, make him a brilliant addition to the Altitude Angel team.”

On joining Altitude Angel, Harvey said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Altitude Angel at what is an exciting time in the company’s evolution. Its recent launch of GuardianUTM Enterprise, aimed at providing situational awareness for all manned and unmanned operations in an aerodrome’s managed airspace, is a platform all airports should be wanting to adopt. I’m very much looking forward to helping the aviation industry better understand the opportunity drone operations can bring.”
