Xwing is seeking a Principal Flight SW Engineer to develop autonomous aircraft flight software in compliance with DO-178C standards for requirements traceability, verification, quality assurance, and documentation. Responsibilities:
Design and implement DO-178C certifiable SW for the following applications:
- Aircraft automation including autotakeoff, autoland, autotaxi
- Detect and avoid including sensor processing, sensor fusion, target state estimation, path planning
- Aircraft system management including fuel, electrical power, lights, de-ice, radio
- Mission management including mission planning, contingency response
- Ground control station including UI, data link, air traffic control interface
Set up the development environment for certified code on the certifiable hardware.
Develop and execute DO-178C compliant processes for requirements traceability, verification, quality assurance, and documentation.Required qualifications:
- Experience with DO-178C process (DAL-A to DAL-C)
- Experience with the development of DO-178C certified software
- Experience with C/C++ in an embedded and/or real-time software application
- University degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Effective at working in a multidisciplinary team and communicating across stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and methodical while building software
Desirable qualifications:
- Familiarity with one or more of the following
- Control systems
- Computer vision
- Tracking and estimation algorithms
- Path-planning algorithms
- UI design
- Communications protocols
- Networking
