THE ROLE

As part of our ongoing planning we have identified a number of positions that we wish to fill over the next few months and we are now inviting expressions of interest across a number of these Unmanned Air System (Drone) Operator roles.  The roles may be varied and include delivering UAS operations and UAS training in both the UK and overseas, and for both military and civil customers. The roles will start to become available from April 2021, initially on a fixed term contract but with an aspiration to offer permanent roles as soon as practicable. Training will be provided to qualify and certify on each UAS type needed for a role.

The roles we have available are:

  • Unmanned Air System Operator
  • Unmanned Air System Instructor / Evaluator
  • Unmanned Air System Operator Team Leader

THE PERSON

We are looking for dynamic, proactive individuals with a ‘can do attitude’ who are capable of working with minimal supervision and are not afraid to contribute their own suggestions and ideas for business improvement. Some of the positions will require overseas deployments & rotations, or shift work in support of our customers. Prior military background would be a significant advantage. While prior UAS or RPAS experience would be highly desirable, it is not essential if applicants have an experienced background aviation or airspace. Additionally, if UAS experience has been gained after leaving military service, this may also be considered favorably.

The following skills and experience would be helpful to any application:

  • RAF MQ-9 Reaper, Army Watchkeeper / Hermes 450 / DH3, RN Scan Eagle experience
  • Other Military RPAS or Tactical UAS Pilot / Sensor Operator experience
  • Military ISR Pilot / WSO / WSOp operator experience
  • Military Fast Jet Pilot / WSO operator experience
  • Military Intelligence Analysts with RPAS or UAV operations experience
  • Experience in Special Operations including Ground & Air operators and support staff
  • For Instructor Roles: Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) or Aircrew Instructor Course (AIC) qualifications are highly desirable but other instructional qualifications will be considered

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant will be required to be a UK National and complete National Security Vetting which will require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
