About Swoop Aero

Swoop Aero was founded to transform how the world moves essential supplies.

We were proudly the first commercial enterprise globally to deliver life-saving vaccines via drone. We focus and staff our operations locally to enable us to have sustainable global impact, and have expanded our impact across the world, having run medical drone logistics operations in four countries.

The important work we’re doing is shifting the future of transport and having an immediate impact on the lives of people who live in the remote communities where we operate. Many companies say they have an impact, but we really mean it. We’re based in Melbourne and continuing to open and operate in developing markets globally with our autonomous, electric, 3D printed aircraft underpinning transformational health outcomes.  We’ve got big plans and the necessary focus to shift the paradigm in both currently developing and developed markets.

To do this, we’ve brought together a team of eternally optimistic and resourceful ‘doers’ to tackle these seemingly insurmountable problems and make all this become a reality.

The situation and the role:

So, what next? With our strong board and insightful leadership, we are well resourced to build our global team and expand our operations into multiple markets. Last year we tripled our team size, and this year we are doing it again! Now more than ever our work has become all the more meaningful and relevant. With the world’s current focus on health we have the opportunity to grow a business that leads. In addition, we have the technology that can drive new solutions into new and emerging markets.

To help us achieve our vision, we are looking for a talented and resourceful Aircraft Assembly Engineer. This role is responsible for the assembly and quality assurance of Swoop Aero’s fleet of next generation autonomous aircraft. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the best engineering minds and create ground-breaking technology that has applications to support healthcare logistics networks right across the globe.

  • Participate in technical team reviews to ensure manufacturability of product designs
  • Identify and/or make recommendations or implement opportunities to continuously improve production operations
  • Perform regular quality control assessments on outgoing aircraft
  • Track and manage production stock levels
  • Maintain and update production QC documentation

About you:

Your positive and resourceful attitude enables you to actively seek out solutions. You thrive when faced with a challenge and enjoy collaborating with highly passionate and innovative people. You will have previous hands-on experience in a relevant engineering related activity and have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent discipline. Most importantly you will be deeply passionate about technology and share the belief that it can positively shape the future of healthcare across the globe.Role posted – 11:01am, 2nd Dec 2020 AEDT
