FBI and FAA Secret Remote ID demonstration for law enforcers

So some of us know there was a law enforcement RID Demo with no details.

Well, the details are starting to roll in. Fairfax County, Virginia, provided this set of documents. Remember, this is “public” rulemaking that you will have to live with in the future.

On a side note, I’m wondering who handled the demonstration of the DJI app?
We will be posting more information as it becomes available in the interest of the American people.

FCPD FOIA
Subject: This is a public records request.

On September 17, 2020, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted a demonstration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) remote identification using existing pre-production, prototype radio frequency (RF) broadcast and software technology. The demonstration took place at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Academy at Quantico, Virginia.

Evidence of this is located here. https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=FAA-2019-1100-53261

The FAA posting indicated that a representative from Fairfax County (VA) Police was present at the demo.

I am requesting:

(1)    the FAA authored invitation to the event that was sent to the Fairfax County (VA) Police representative along with any associated attachments.

(2)    I am also requesting all responses filed by Fairfax County (VA) Police representatives sent in response to the invitation as well as after the demonstration was done.

              (3)    Any reports or documents prepared by Fairfax County (VA) Police representatives to brief their leadership on.

Thank you,

Patrick Egan

The non disclaimer folks attending had to sign

I’m just going to put Patrick’s FOIA invoice in here as well after all this big story will be claimed by other outlets. Well this will a big story once the others have worked out the implications. You canbuy Patrick a cider next time you see him (GM)
