AMSTERDAM, 2 November 2020 – From 1-3 December, Amsterdam will be the epicentre of the global UAM industry for the third consecutive year. At least, in cyberspace this time. ADW Hybrid 2020 takes place completely online for both delegates and partners. Through an intelligent matchmaking platform delegates, speakers and partners are matched and can easily connect and meet virtually during the event.

Paul Riemens, CEO of RAI Amsterdam and initiator of the Amsterdam Drone Week, stresses the importance of keeping connected. “To effectively reach a level of safe future mobility, cooperation within the UAM ecosystem is crucial. Especially in these hard times where things are even more challenging and uncertain.”

100 speakers around the globe
The entire global UAM ecosystem is invited to watch, listen and participate in discussions with more than 100 speakers. The main themes in the programme include Urban Air Mobility, Rules and Regulations, Safety & Security, Technology & Solutions and Integrated Skies.

Keynote speeches, live interviews and panel discussions will be broadcast from the “ADW Mainstage” in RAI Amsterdam with partners and speakers from EASA, Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, KPN, Airbus, ENAV, EVERIS, GSMA, NLR, City of Amsterdam, Achmea, TwijnstraGudde, Embassy of Poland, Boeing and Wing. In the “ADW Theatre” demonstrations and presentations will take place on the latest use cases and solutions and from the “ADW Break Out Rooms” workshops, parallel sessions, meetings and seminars are held.

Moving towards a global UAM infrastructure

On the ADW Mainstage Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management and ambassador of the Amsterdam Drone Week, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen will officially open ADW Hybrid 2020. Patrick Ky, Director of the European Aviation Authority EASA will give an update on the U-Space opinion and have a live discussion with Simon Hocquard, Director General of CANSO, the global organization of air traffic controllers, on “What requires a safe and secure Urban Air Space”.

Tuesday, December 1, will be an exploration of what it takes to build the UAM ecosystem in Europe. A delegation of European mayors will be present on behalf of the EU UAM Initiative to discuss “Urban Airspace and the role of cities”.

Wednesday, December 2, CANSO and GUTMA will discuss the next steps on “Integrated Skies”. And Thursday, December 3, aviation authorities from Europe (EASA) and Singapore (CAAS) will discuss global drone rules and regulations. The ultimate goal is to set the next step towards a roadmap for an UAM infrastructure on a global scale. In line with the authorities Wing will open up the discussion of “Open source as a foundation to interoperability”.
