English Channel Temporary Danger Area Complex – State Requirement

English Channel Temporary Danger Area Complex – State Requirement

Due to a state requirement, the CAA have been required to implement new Temporary Danger Area (TDA) complex over the English Channel between 31 August and 30 September 2020.

This complex replaces the previously notified areas. The Temporary Danger Areas will be utilised by Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) operating Beyond Visual Line of Sight. The RPAS do not have a Detect and Avoid capability.

(You have to ask why it’s simple now GM)

Only the required Danger Areas will be activated.

A Danger Area Activity Information Service (DAAIS) will be available from London Information on frequency 124.6 MHz. In addition, during the hours of ATC watch, a DAAIS will also be available from Lydd Approach on frequency 120.705MHz.

For more information see TEMPORARY DANGER AREAS under News on the NATS AIS website.
