Doris Barnert proposed for election to the skyguide Board of Directors

The skyguide Board of Directors is proposing Doris Barnert, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Corporate Services at Swissgrid, to the annual general meeting as a new member of the Board. The Federal Council approved her nomination at its meeting of Friday. She will be formally elected at the Annual General Meeting of skyguide ltd on May 14, 2020.

Doris Barnert succeeds Jean-Yves Bonvin, who had to step down from his position for health reasons in September 2019. Jean-Yves Bonvin had been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012. As a member of the Safety Committee and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee, he has played a major role in shaping skyguide’s innovation strategy. The Board of Directors would like to thank him sincerely for his dedicated work and wishes him all the best.

Doris Barnert has been active in her role as Head of Finance and Head of Corporate Services at the national grid company Swissgrid since 2017. Prior to this, the 50-year-old Swiss national, who grew up bilingual, worked for nine years as Director of Finance and Member of the Executive Board for Solothurner Spitäler AG and before that for seven years in various functions for SBB AG, the Swiss Federal Railways. In addition to her operational activities, Doris Barnert is also a member of the supervisory board of the German TSCNet Services GmbH and a member of the board of directors of the procedural companies that emerged as spin-offs from the former grid companies. Doris Barnert holds an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and a Master of Advanced Studies in Corporate Finance from the Institute of Financial Services (IFZ) at the University of Lucerne.
