Roter Group of Companies and Terra Drone India partner to cater industrial UAV market in India

Terra Drone India’s new product portfolio includes Trinity90+, the UAV which India’s elite government organization, Survey of India, is using in various nonpareil projects for Large-Scale Mapping.

Terra Drone India, a leading provider of industrial drone solutions, has entered into a partnership with Ansari Precision Instruments Pvt. Ltd., part of the Roter Group of Companies, to sell their Quantum Systems GmbH German-engineered professional long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in India.

As part of this agreement, an after-sales service and support center is being established in Hyderabad currently. The partnership comes on the heels of the Indian government promoting greater use of drone technology for mapping, surveying, reconnaissance, and surveillance activities. Germany-based Quantum Systems GmbH is known globally for introducing the most innovative and efficient concepts in the unmanned aviation market. As a premier developer of automatic, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) fixed-wing drones for a wide variety of use cases, Quantum is committed to the Indian government’s flagship ‘Make In India’ program with Ansari Precision Instruments Pvt. Ltd. (part of Roter Group of Companies), which began the manufacturing of India’s first surveying instruments in 1936.

Terra Drone India is an associate company of Japan-based Terra Drone Corporation, which has been recognized as the No. 2 drone provider in the world with a presence in more than 25 countries. The partnership between these organizations has been made possible by a shared mission to equip surveyors, mappers, and geospatial specialists with state-of-the-art tools to support their aerial intelligence strategy.

Roter Group sees Terra Drone India’s extensive commercial UAV experience as a serious asset to increase its presence in the high-opportunity Indian drone industry. Sajid Mukhtar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Roter Group of Companies, says, “Terra Drone India has a solid track record in providing top-class drone services. We see this partnership as a great opportunity to increase business in the fast-growing Indian UAV market and are proud of this endorsement of our technology by Terra Drone India.”

Stressing that this association will allow the company to grow an already significant client base, Terra Drone India CEO, Prateek Srivastava, explains, “With the government’s push toward intelligent data acquisition and analytics for Smart Cities, there is a strong requirement for robust surveying and inspection solutions in the commercial UAV market. Roter Group drones are the perfect amalgamation of cutting-edge German engineering and reliable Indian manufacturing, and we look forward to helping the industry adopt them.”

The product portfolio includes two survey-grade UAVs designed to take-off and land autonomously in the most challenging environments – Tron90+ and Trinity90+. The drones come equipped with features like ADS-B technology for collision avoidance, high payload capacity, and longest-in-class flight time (more than 90 minutes). Tron90+ and Trinity90+ leverage a technique called Post Processing Kinematic (PPK) to correct GPS signals to achieve accuracy up to two centimeters. This capability is critical for applications like 3D mapping in smart cities, mining operations, infrastructure monitoring, forestry, etc.

Roter Group has also introduced vertical take-off reconnaissance UAVs called Vector and Scorpion for the Indian market. Optimized for use in adverse conditions with extreme temperatures, these drones are ideal for tactical missions, such as, search and rescue, convoy protection, battlefield monitoring, border patrol, and traffic surveillance.

Terra Drone India plans to demonstrate these drones in a multi-city roadshow in the coming weeks.
