Altitude Angel, the world’s leading unmanned traffic management (UTM) technology provider, has showcased to the European Commission the market-leading technology it deployed during the recent Gulf of Finland project at Digital Transport Days 2019.
Hosted by INDanube, Digital Transport Days 2019 is taking place 7-9 October in Helsinki, Finland. The conference, which offers a European viewpoint to digital solutions for transport and mobility, is attended by Europe’s leading public officials and experts as well as industry and service providers.
Altitude Angel, as the world’s leading UTM technology provider and a central partner in the Gulf of Finland (GoF) trials, showcased the technology it successfully deployed during the GoF project at the conference on Monday. Altitude Angel demonstrated a comprehensive range of U-Space 1-3 services, including:
- Collation of multiple telemetry and surveillance sources (ADS-B, primary and secondary radar, FLARM, integrated ground control stations and GSM trackers)
- Flight planning, approval and In-flight instruction
- Dynamic geofencing
- Remote ID
- FIMS integration through a SWIM architecture.
Simon Wynn-Mackenzie, Altitude Angel, Head of Products, said: “The Gulf of Finland project was a great success so I’m thrilled Altitude Angel were asked to present our industry-leading UTM solution to the European Commission.
“Through demonstrations like the ground-breaking Operation Zenith and the Gulf of Finland trials, Altitude Angel has been able to consistently demonstrate how its platform can safely integrate drones into a range of dynamic airspace situations such as urban operations, blue-lights support, search-and-rescue and international coordination.”
About Altitude Angel:
Altitude Angel is an aviation technology company delivering solutions that enable the safer integration and use of fully automated drones into airspace. Through its Airspace Management platform, GuardianUTM O/S, they deliver the essential software platform which enables national deployments of USpace compatible services, safely unlocking the potential of drones and helping national aviation authorities and air navigation service providers to establish new services to support the growth in the drone industry.
The foundation components of GuardianUTM O/S are also available to enable third-party UTM developers to incorporate enterprise-grade data and services into their UTM solutions.
Altitude Angel was founded by Richard Parker in 2014 and is headquartered in Reading, UK.
Altitude Angel’s developer platform is open and available to all at https://developers.altitudeangel.com.
GuardianUTM enables drone manufacturers and software developers to connect into a rich, dynamic source of accurate, authoritative and relevant information to support geofencing, while offering enhanced UTM capabilities such as a single interface to multi-country flight authorisation.
The system is being deployed by NATS, the UK’s main air navigation service provider, and was demonstrated as part of ‘Operation Zenith’ in 2018, offering enhanced airport safeguarding and automated approvals to fly in controlled airspace. Altitude Angel is now bringing online functionality to enable drone pilots anywhere in the world to get 1-click access to controlled airspace.
Its companion product, GuardianUTM O/S, supports all the functionality required to deliver national-grade drone traffic management capabilities to any country that wishes to safely unlock the potential of drones.
