Parrot enters INPI’s Top 50 based on patent submissions

Parrot, the leading European Drone Group, has appeared for the first time among the list of the top 50 companies based on number of patent submissions in France.

With 36 requests to the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), Parrot – which was awarded one of the INPI Trophies of innovation in the “Patents” category in 2007 – is ranked 38 on the 2017 list.

This highlights Parrot’s capability to innovate and illustrates the quality of the group’s R&D in designing differentiated products and in the extensive focus given to new uses.

Parrot has always maintained its investments in R&D to a high level and has developed extremely advanced products for more than 20 years. As a result, software, electronics, design and manufacturing costs are core parts of the research department daily activity, and industrial and intellectual property a key element of Parrot Group’s strategy.

R&D is historically at the heart of the company and the Group’s DNA is about exploring new areas and experiences for end-users, consumers and professionals. This is achieved through Parrot’s commitment to permanently reinventing itself and innovating.

INPI’s 2017 list methodology

This list is established by the INPI by counting the number of patent requests done nationally at the INPI and published in 2017. This list takes into account the structure of the groups since it is established by identifying and gathering the subsidiaries belonging to one group. The goal of this list is to show the most precisely as possible the activity of the companies as regards to patents’ submissions at the INPI.
