North Carolina DOT Hosts Asheville Drone Workshop for Commercial and Government Operators
The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Division of Aviation is hosting a workshop for commercial and government drone/Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS) operators.
NCDOT and partners are aiming to educate local agencies and businesses about potential practical applications of this emerging technology. This workshop will focus primarily on how drones can be used for emergency management. Other topics will include flight operations, drone safety, data management, as well as the use of drones in blasting operations and newsgathering. This is the second in a series of free workshops the Division of Aviation will be hosting across the state.
NCDOT’s UAS Project Manager Basil Yap will be available for interviews, as will other attendees and presenters. A live flight demonstration will take place from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m.
