Discover crop problems within minutes – Haevic AgriAnalys Drone

HAEVIC, well- known drone manufacturer of Potchefstroom, South Africa have introduced a new drone platform which can deliver complete and highly accurate multispectral images of crops within minutes.

These advanced graphics give the farmer an immediate indication where diseases or plant stress can be found in his crop fields.

Usually, it takes 2 to 7 days to obtain these images after being photographed with a drone. It creates frustration for farmers if they have to wait so long for the results of the surveys.

HAEVIC has just released their AgriAnalys Drone. “HAEVIC acquired the distribution rights for the brilliant Slantrange multispectral camera,” said Dr. Gerhard Coetzee, Managing Director of HAEVIC. “This camera is without a doubt the leader in the field of remote sensing within the multispectral bandwidth.”
With the Slantrange camera installed on HAEVIC’s drone platform, the drone can perform its flight survey for nearly 50 minutes. In addition, the camera will start to process the information gathered onboard the drone even while still flying.

“The results of the aerial survey are therefore available minutes after the drone has landed. This is a first for South Africa. In addition, the resolution available is from 4 cm per pixel, which improves by far the results acquired by satellite imagery. No Internet connection is required for the AgriAnalys product, which means that the AgriAnalys drone can be used in remote areas. There is simply no comparable product available in the market when coming to the NDVI imagery rendering industry. ”

The value for the farmer is that he now quickly and effectively can determine what steps must be taken to improve or rectify problem areas in his fields. Over time the farmer can build up a complete historical data set to compare one season’s results with another over the years.

“The good news is that the HAEVIC AgriAnalys drone simply provides the best value for money, while boasting top of the edge imagery in the multispectral colour band”, says Dr Coetzee.
