DJI Spark, first pictures?

DJI Spark, first pictures?

Well it never takes long. If the photos beginning to surface are accurate the DJI Spark is a 15cm  selfie/racing drone. More of the selfie than racing as the motors appear to not be tilted in any way.

I am not convinced of the size of the market. But what would I know!

Yuneec have the slightly larger Breeze but that can’t have been selling too well otherwise they would not have laid off staff recently.DJI Spark

Unlike the Breeze, the DJI Spark seems to have a gimbal. Mavic small packing skills will be leveraged.

It won’t fold at this size, it will not need to!

Looks like it has at least downward facing sensors to help with landing, but nothing pointing in any other direction so stop hitting stuff!

Now the next question, release date? Going by previous rumours and photo releases, about two months I reckon. I also think it will be sub $300. So in the shops for mid-Northern hemisphere summer.

This will make the consumer range, Spark and Mavic with the Phantom 4 Pro being the bottom of the professional pile.

I am quite surprised that DJI is bothering with this market. I would have thought they had bigger fish to fry.

Perhaps there is another plan afoot.
