Farmers and graziers will be the focus of a special conference at the Australian International Airshow.

This timely and important event, Drones in Agriculture, will look at how modern drone technology can be used to carry out a variety of tasks and improve economic outcomes for the man on the land.

The wide range of UAV operations will be examined in detail.

The conference will feature three highly credentialed presenters.

Among them is Brad Donald senior agronomist with Elders.

He will look at many practical uses for UAVs such as crop inspection, soil inspection and crop spraying.

Another speaker, Leonard Hall, is an engineering lecturer at the University of Adelaide and a consultant with the Defence Science and Technology Group.

He will deliver an informative presentation on the many technical challenges of using drones in regional Australia including radio frequencies and radar.

Wayne Lording, the final speaker, is an experienced pilot and qualified drone operator who is using UAV technology on his own property near Yea.

He will give specialised insights on how drones can be used to enhance sustainable farming practices, land survey, water and fence checking, thermal imaging and soil monitoring.

This vital conference is a must for all involved in agriculture.

It is being organised in conjunction with AIRSHOW 2017 and will be held on Saturday 4th March 10am-11am and repeated, same time and venue, on Sunday 5th March.

It will be held within the Drone Showcase precinct at the Airshow site.

Entry to the Drones in Agriculture conference is free, but attendees will need to have already purchased a standard Airshow admittance ticket ($65).

After the conference, they will be able to remain at the event and enjoy its brilliant flying displays and ground exhibits.

The Australian International Airshow 2017 will be held at Avalon Airport 3 to 5 March.
