Sweaters for Cold Drones from $189

Sweaters for Cold Drones from $189

Oh, why oh why did I not see this before Christmas. Artist Danielle Baskin has created sweaters for drones!

“Once you have decided to get a sweater for your drone, you will need to begin by considering material. While wool is very warm and one of the best insulating materials, take into account how often it will need to be washed, and whether it will make your drone more uncomfortable due to itching. A good blend of washable wool and cotton or acrylic may be the best bet.”

This was sure to have been a hit for drone owners and would have flown off the shelves (see what I did there) before Christmas. The ultimate gift for the drone owner that has everything.

Frank Wang is probably ordering a container load as I type.

On a serious note lithium, polymer batteries do underperform in the cold. The very reason the DJI Inspire 2 comes with batteries that can self-heat in cold weather.

At $189 a pop drone sweaters are not cheap, but then again they are bespoke.  You will meet with the artist at her studio in San Francisco to create a custom design just for your drone!

Well done Danielle, art is supposed to make you think!
