Lily Drone ships to USA first

All this talk of selfie drones reminded me of Lily, ah Lily.

A look at their Facebook Page shows disappointment from non-US residents who have been put at the back of the queue.

This from the Lily blog.

All United States pre-orders will ship between December 2016 and January 2017. Pre-orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they were placed. Due to regulatory and logistical constraints, international pre-orders will start shipping later in 2017. We will be sharing a more detailed rollout plan in the coming weeks. In the meantime, your pre-order dollars will continue to remain untouched.

Crunchbase tells us Lily has had $15m in funding. That’s not a lot for a drone business developing a new product. 3DR has not managed to make it work with $126 million invested from 5 rounds. Lily has had three years of trying to make that money stretch!

Funding Rounds (3) – $15M

UPDATE

Date Amount / Round Valuation Lead Investor Investors
Dec, 2015 $14M / Series A 14
Apr, 2014 $1M / Seed 8
Mar, 2014 undisclosed amount / Non Equity Assistance 1

Lily does have one ace up its sleeve. More than $34 million dollars in pre-orders.  Karma has landed and Mavic is just around the corner.

Once again getting a product to market fast is key in this game.
