Jeremy Clarkson gets excited about Amazon’s delivery drone

Amazon announced last week that it will partner with the British government to test the viability of using drones to deliver parcels. In an article titled Can Amazon’s drones deliver the Back to the Future world?, The Telegraph’s Alan Tovey lays out some of the challenges delivery drone companies will face while British celebrity, and former host of BBC’s Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson enthusiastically explains how Amazon plans to bring drone deliveries to the masses.

zipline - teamStaying with the delivery drones theme, The Guardian has written a detailed piece on Zipline, the California-based company working with UPS on medical delivery trials in Africa in From killing machines to agents of hope: the future of drones in Africa. Well worth the time to read, although I am not sure if the drone port concept mentioned in the article is a viable one.

I have always loved computers, maps, aerial photos and any kind of flying thing so the UAS addiction quickly took hold. Since then my interest in these technologies has grown from just an interest to building and flying small UAS as well as getting involved with sUAS News."
