One year of 333 commercial RPAS exemptions

One year of 333 commercial RPAS exemptions

sUASNews 333s Sept 2014 - Sept 2015

I woke up this morning and realized we had not marked the first year of 333’s in America. The straight forward process allows anybody with a PPL to apply for an exemption that permits them to operate RPA commercially in the NAS. This process was put in place as a stop gap.

Off to a slow start but roaring away now.

Interestingly there are more 333 exemptions than there are aircraft with N tail numbers required to operate them. Some 333 operators have 3 or 4 registered aircraft. The total as of Sunday 18th October of 1595 sUAS registered is a few out. Now either the N register is slower than the 333 folk or people are grabbing a 333 while they can.
