Consumers Energy Launching Drone
JACKSON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – You might have heard drones being used in war-fare but now they will be used for a different reason right here in mid-Michigan.
Later this morning in Jackson County, Consumers Energy will be launching its own unmanned aerial vehicle also known as a drone.
Consumers Energy became the first energy company in Michigan to receive FAA approval to use drones in three Michigan counties. The drone is being used to inspect an electric substation.
U.S. Senator Gary Peters will be speaking at today’s launch, he serves on the commerce that oversees the federal aviation administration.
