The Elephant in the Room Luncheon Series The Impact of Drones

Drones are no longer just the domain of the military. From real estate photography to package delivery to film making to business security, we’re in the midst of “drone fever” – sparking a lively debate in our country about drones, privacy, and policy. Corporations and individuals are clamoring to use this exciting technology to increase efficiency, enhance workplace safety, and further their business goals. But the technology in this area has far outpaced the policy making. And while the use of drones in our country has become wildly popular in a very short period of time, confusion abounds about what the law says, what the rules are, and how to fly drones commercially without flouting the law.

Come hear Lisa Ellman, the preeminent authority on drone policy, discuss commercial drone use, how companies can apply for an FAA exemption to use drones legally, and how the future of these unmanned aircraft systems will impact your business. Lisa Ellman currently serves as co-chair of MLA’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Practice Group. Lisa has held positions at the top levels of the Executive Branch at the White House and the U.S. Department of Justice, where, in her words, she “made things” as a policy maker.
