Boston, MA – Robots will invade Boston October 15-17 during RoboBusiness 2014, the leading business development event for the global robotics market. Celebrating its 10th year, RoboBusiness 2014 will be bringing together 1200 CEOs, CTOs, CSOs, Investment Partners and VPs of Business Development from over twenty-two different countries to network, meet experts and develop relationships with senior level executives, as well as see firsthand the newest technology in the global robotics industry.
“RoboBusiness is now in its 10th year, so it is fitting that the event returns to Boston, one of the leading robotics clusters in the world and where the conference originated,” said Dan Kara, ABI Research’s Practice Director for Robotics and RoboBusiness 2014 co-chair. “RoboBusiness was founded on the principle that new businesses, partnerships and investment result when all members of the international robotics community, freed from the typical stovepiped conferences and summits, come together to network, sharing information and insights in the process. Over the years, that vision has been proven true. RoboBusiness is the place where ideas become reality.”

Keynote speakers include:

Colin Angle, Chairman & CEO, iRobot

Robert Ambrose, Chief, Software, Robotics & Simulation Division, NASA-JSC

Dr. Cynthia Breazeal, Assoc. Prof. MIT Media Lab, Director Personal Robots Group and Founder, CEO of Jibo, Inc.
Pam Henderson, PhD, CEO, NewEdge, Inc.

Andrew McAfee, Principal Research Scientist, MIT

Dr. Michael Bruenig, Director, Digital Productivity & Services Flagship, CSIRO and Co-Presenter Jim Buttrick, Technical Fellow, Boeing Company

Professor Gregory Dudek, Scientific Director, NCFRN

The RoboBusiness Conference Program also brings together world-class speakers from key companies, labs and institutions that are fueling the growth of the global robotics industry. Breakout sessions and workshops focus on the following tracks: Business Development, Commercial Design Trends, Disruptive Applications and Enabling Technologies.

To kick off the conference, RoboBusiness 2014 will honor and highlight companies contributing remarkable technological accomplishments to their markets. The Game Changer Awards will recognize robotic products that demonstrate outstanding advancements in a variety of specified technology categories. Winners will be announced during the welcome reception the first night of the conference.

Startups also have their moment to shine at RoboBusiness 2014:

·  Pitchfire – Emceed by Andra Keay, Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics – Fifteen selected startups each receive 2 minutes to pitch their business concept to a panel of VC judges. Each of the 15 startups chosen to pitch will receive a free full conference pass to RoboBusiness and a startup listing on Robotics Business Review.
·  Startup & Investor Matchmaking – To continue to offer high-level networking with the industry’s experts, RoboBusiness is hosting a private session following the Pitchfire event, providing time for startups and investors to be paired with one another in their own private networking event.

“RoboBusiness acts as a rallying place for everyone involved in bringing cutting edge robotics to the marketplace,” said Casey Nobile, Robotics Trends Media’s Chief Content Manager and RoboBusiness 2014 co-chair. “This is not simply a conference where we discuss what’s happening, we are making it happen. RoboBusiness brings together critical aspects of the industry. Someone who has new software to address an issue, an investor seeking technology targeting a specific market, an expert who knows how to cut development and integration costs, so you can appeal to new customers – you will meet them here.”
Attendees will have several opportunities to interact with and see over 80 companies showcasing their cutting-edge robotics technologies, products and services during the Sponsor Showcase. This year’s sponsors include Aethon, Harvest Automation, Rethink Robotics, Universal Robots, Vecna, Yujin Robot, Aldebaran, Andrew Alliance, Black Dog Robotics (NPC Robotics), Clearpath, Five Elements Robotics, Hstar Technologies, Robai/Energid, and C-Link Systems, among others.
