BMFA Multi-Rotor Achievement Scheme Launched

BMFA Multi-Rotor Achievement Scheme Launched

bmfa

Underlining yet again just how far ahead of the USA folks in Europe are the British Model Flying Association has just launched an examination scheme for multirotor fliers, flying for fun. There is the basic A certificate and more advanced B.

Well done the BMFA.

In their words:-

The ‘A’ certificate is a measure of flying ability and safety which ‘may be equated to a safe solo standard of flying’ and an increasing number of clubs use it as their ‘safe solo’ test. As an examiner, the level of competence you should expect of a candidate should be based on that criterion; that is, is this person, in your opinion, fit to be allowed to fly unsupervised?

If you have just bought a DJI Phantom in the UK and want to get off to a good start seeking out a local club and receiving some training might be a good idea. Joining the BMFA will give you insurance as well.

Its well worth downloading and looking at the schedule to see if you would make the grade. Also a solid grounding for future commercial flight tests if that’s where you would like to end up.

The standards and guidelines booklets are available to download from www.bmfa.org/Downloads/RCAchievementSchemeDownloads

or directly from the links below.
