01 August 2013, Icaros, Inc., a global geospatial solutions provider, has teamed with Tetracam, Inc. a leading multi-spectral sensor provider to the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) market to enable Tetracam users with an automated photogrammetric solution.  The solution converts thousands of UAS-acquired images into professional geo-referenced images and highly-accurate 3D models. IPS software automatically produces orthomosaics and DTM/DSM (digital terrain/surface models) quickly and accurately from images collected using Tetracam’s range of multispectral sensors.

Icaros offers several versions of the IPS software:

  • IPS Basic version is featured to support small project areas and applications including UAS aerial mapping,
  • IPS Standard version is targeted to larger UAS and GIS projects, and
  • IPS Professional version supports large volume photogrammetric service organizations.

“The IPS software quickly and accurately processed aerial imagery, captured using our Tetracam ADC Micro, which other photogrammetric software could not process.” stated John Palacio, vice president sales and marketing at Tetracam. “The convergence of these very sophisticated technologies is making the science of precision farming as easy as pushing a few buttons and throwing a small model aircraft into the sky.”

“We are excited with the opportunity to combine our advanced photogrammetric software with Tetracam’s industry-leading sensor technology to better support the UAS aerial mapping market” commented Tom Bosanko, CEO of Icaros, Inc.

Tetracam and Icaros are jointly introducing the new IPS software at the AUVSI conference in Washington DC, August 13-15.  Tetracam will be exhibiting their systems at Booth 4313 at the conference.  A special class on this new software will be conducted in Los Angeles August 19 – 21 as part of a 3-day Tetracam workshop on the “Principles of Multi-spectral Imaging Technology.”

Based in Rockville, MD., Icaros, Inc. is an advanced remote sensing services and solutions provider, enabling clients worldwide mission-critical imagery and related data.  Since 2004, Icaros has delivered highly-accurate, precise imagery to some of the largest organizations and governments in the world.  The company has developed advanced software for precise, automated, geospatially-accurate photogrammetric production enabled by Esri software.
